Family run

W T Home Centre are an independent, family-run business based in Liverpool, who have been trading since 1979.  We started out as a chandlers and household item shop and steadily grew into furniture as the market changed.

William Thomas Hughes started the business from our showroom on Smithdown Road, Liverpool, in 1979 and retired in 2020, handing the reins over to his son Neil, who now runs the shop with his wife Becky and loyal, long-standing assistants, Sarah and Darren.

Being family-run we go out of our way to make your experience with us a great one.  Our friendly, approachable team are waiting to help in any way they can.  We genuinely care about customer satisfaction and do what we can to smooth out any problems, so if you need any assistance at all – from choosing the best product to suit your needs to measuring and sizing assistance, or if you have any complaints, please call us on 0151 733 0701 or email us on info@wthomecentre.co.uk and we will be happy to assist you

Neil

I’m the owner of W T Home Centre and proud to carry on my Dad’s work.

My hobbies are the gym,  fishing, countryside walks and charity work. I have worked in dog shelters in Romania and Germany helping the dogs socialise ready for adoption.

I have also done charity treks and challenges round the world to help animals. I’ve worked at W T Home Centre since I left school.

Becky

I’m Neil’s wife and we have been married for 15 years. My hobbies outside of work include hiking, cycling, swimming, walking my dogs and travelling.

I’m quite adventurous and will try anything once.

I’m passionate about charity work and love doing challenges to raise money for the dog charities support.

I’m also a bookworm and will always be reading anything by Stephen King.

Sarah

I enjoy reading, usually sci-fi and fantasy. I have a deep interest in history, specifically the tail end of the dark age moving into the Tudor period.

I’m quite active as a person, going for walks or bike rides on a regular basis, and I dance competitively myself as well as training one of the younger sections in our troupe, which includes my son, who brought me back into the dance world. I’ve worked at W T Home Centre for 23 years.

Darren

My hobbies are going out, DIY and playing computer games. I love to work stuff out and absolutely love David Attenborough shows, as I’m fascinated by the universe and how plants, animals and humans have evolved.

I have worked here for eight years now and really enjoy what I do.
